What to expect from our Pub List

Among the most popular content found here for non-members are our pub pages and our special maps of Gothenburg pubs & Linköping / Norrköping pubs & Öresund region pubs & Stockholm pubs. Our effort is to list pubs which we would visit ourselves, when travelling in Sweden. We do not rate the pubs but our members are expected to keep an eye on their quality. Another page will tell you almost all there is to know about finding good beer in Sweden, tipping etc.

In an establishment listed as a Pub you can expect to find at least 20 different beers, at least 5 of which are draught (or draft, or tap) beers. Draught beers will normally be kegged, but a few pubs serve cask beer by handpump or gravity. This will be mentioned under comments; look for the words ”Real ale”. Pubs will also have a bar as well as table service.

We make exceptions from the minimum requirements in a few cases: historical pubs and pubs with beers that are hard to find in other places in Sweden. In smaller communities, the best pub in town may be listed.

In an establishment listed as a Restaurant you can expect to find very good food and a good selection of matching beers.

All establishments in our list will offer at least some beers from other sources than the four major beer distributors in Sweden: Carlsberg, Kopparbergs, Spendrups and Åbro breweries.

"Huvudleverantör" means Main supplier - more than half of the beers provided will be from this distributor - a brewery or wholesaler. "Ingen" means None, the pub buys beer from many suppliers.
